Turning on the System

Turn on main power (power strip and or Booster). Then any boosters. With the DT 402 (wireless or plug-in) push the PWR button and then Y+ to turn on track power and PWR then N- to turntrack power off when desired.

To power down, reverse the steps.

Flushing system of mobile addresses

Before open house and operating events, it is best to clear all addresses from the system. This will also clear all consist detail. Disconnect LocoNet from the DCS100. Turn on main power and set right switch on DCS100 to the middle OPS setting. Do not turn on other boosters. Plug a DT400 throttle directly into the DCS100 unit in place of the LocoNet. Press the SWCH button on the DT400 to enter Sw (Switch) mode.

Key in the number of the OpSw. As you browse through the OpSws, the right side of the text area will show the current setting for each OpSw , either “c” or “t”. To flush the system, use OpSw 36. Press the CLOC/c button to set the OpSw to c (closed) in order to clear all mobile decoder and consist info from the system.

The process is done at this point. Press the EXIT button on the DT400 throttle. Set the DCS100 to Sleep or Run, depending if you plan to run trains or not. Reconnect th eLocoNet system and turn on boosters to the Run setting to operate.

Expanding Slots

Before open house and operating events, it is also good practice to check for maximum slot availability. After flushing the system, this can also be done in the OpSw mode. If you are troubleshooting and have not entered OpSw mode, then disconnect the LocoNet from the DCS100. Turn on main power and set right switch on DCS100 to the middle OPS setting. Do not turn on other boosters. Plug a DT400 throttle directly into the DCS100 unit in place of the LocoNet. Press the SWCH button on the DT400 to enter Sw (Switch) mode.

Key in the number of the OpSw. As you browse through the OpSws, the right side of the text area will show the current setting for each OpSw , either “c” or “t”. To expand the number of address slots, use OpSw 44. Press the CLOC/c button to set the OpSw to c (closed) in order to expand the number of address slots in the system.

The process is done at this point. Press the EXIT button on the DT400 throttle. Set the DCS100 to Sleep or Run, depending if you plan to run trains or not. Reconnect the LocoNet system and turn on boosters to the Run setting to operate.

Throttle Use

DT400

Track Power On – Push PWR button, then push the Y+ button.

Loco Acquire – Turn one knob. Address line will flash. Push LOCO button, then push buttons for address. Push LOCO button again. Run loco. R and L buttons control direction specific to R and L throttle knobs.

Releasing loco – Zero loco speed. Press the LOCO button, then press the DISP button.

Build Loco Consist – Enter lead loco onto right knob. Enter next loco onto left knob. Ensure each are moving in same direction. Press the MU button and then push the Y+ button. Run consist on right knob. To add additional, enter next loco onto left knob and repeat process.

UT4

Loco Acquire – Turn knob to left until it stops. Move switches to address. Press SHIFT/SEL button. Green light should appear. Run train. If a red light appears, then change direction switch at top of unit. Green light should appear. Run train. NOTE: Cannot build consists with this throttle.

Releasing loco – Turn knob to left until it stops. Press SHIFT/SEL button and the DISP button.

UT1

Loco Acquire – Turn knob to left until it stops. Move switches to address. Press ACQ/DISP button. Green light should appear. Run train. If a red light appears, then change direction switch at top of unit. Green light should appear. Run train. NOTE: Cannot acquire four digit addresses or build consists with this throttle.

Releasing loco – Turn knob to left until it stops. Press and hold SHIFT button, then press ACQ/DISP button.

DT100

Track Power On – Press down & hold the RUN/STOP button then also press the + button.

Loco Acquire – Turn right knob, SE:R will appear on display. Press the SEL/SET button. Turn right knob to loco address. When correct address appears, press the SEL/SET button to acquire. When acquiring a four digit address, press and hold the SEL/SET button and turn a knob until the RED light comes on. Release the SEL/SET button. Now you can use the right and left knobs to quickly pick the right and left pairs of digits. When correct address appears, press the SEL/SET button to acquire.

Releasing loco – Zero loco speed. Press and hold the SEL/SET and press the MODE/DISP button.

Build Loco Consist – Enter lead loco onto right knob. Enter next loco onto left knob. Ensure each are moving in same direction. Press the MODE/DISP button until the MU mode indicator on the LCD display is lit. Then, press the + button to consist the locos.
