The Despatch Shops X65 Boxcar by Eastern Seaboard Models has been announced. This will be the first model of this prototype, in any scale. Initially built for the New York Central and subsidiary Pittsburgh & Lake Erie, the bulk of the fleet was built during the Penn Central era. Lehigh Valley also received a number of cars during the 1970s. The New York Central, Penn Central and Lehigh Valley fleets were inherited by Conrail.
The model features a newly-tooled body and will utilize the X58 Boxcar underframe and body detail components. The model will feature ASF Ride-Control roller-bearing trucks with metal wheelsets, etched end platforms and body-mounted Micro-Trains compatible magnetic knuckle couplers. The MSRP is TBA. Reservations are being accepted now. The model is scheduled to debut 4th Quarter 2017. The following schemes and item numbers will be available:
