The ACT is a fictitious line that runs in the 50's through the 70's from Albuquerque east through the Carnuel Spanish Land Grant through Tijeras Canyon to Tijeras and on to Moriarity where the line splits north to Madrid , Cerillos , Lamy and Santa Fe , and to the south from Moriarity through Estancia , Mountainair , west to Socorro, south to Kachina , Val Verde , San Marcial , Lava , Engle , Rincon , Dona Ana , Las Cruces , Anthony TX and finally to El Paso to interchange with the SP. The ACT you see in the pictures has been under re-construction , the Helix is a success and takes the layout from 0 to 9 1/2" in elevation and the rest of the layout to get back to ground 0 at 2.5% grade maximum. I have returned to N scale and am building a version of the Tehachapi loop layout in the book RAILROADS YOU CAN MODEL by Mike Schafer , Page 68 & 69, still will be in the 8' X 19.5' room. I have decided to return to DCC and DC control using 1 MRC Control Master 20 and a Lenz Set-100 with the LH 100 and LH 90 throttles plus an XPA phone adapter and a 900mhz cordless phone for control. I am using Peco code 55 track and Peco turnouts with Tortoise switch machines. The layout is now about 85% complete and running well. Thanks for stopping in , Mike & Robin
